HIGH-SPEED OPTICAL SORTING TECHNOLOGY PROCESSING NEWSPAPER AT PAPERINKERÄYS OY, FINLAND

Paperinkeräys Oy is the largest and the oldest recovered paper company in Finland. It was established in 1943 by major forest industry companies, most of which are shareholders even today. Among them are also our biggest customers. Paperinkeräys is also a recovered paper producer responsibility organisation, which is authorised to organise the recovery of both domestic and imported printing and writing papers in Finland in strict observance of the Waste Act. We have agreements with paper producers and importers to take care of their product at the end of the life cycle.

The company purchases, processes and sells recovered paper as raw material for industry, organises paper transportation and imports, exports and stores recovered paper. Paperinkeräys procures paper, board and OCC from paper collection and waste management companies, as well as printing houses and other industrial and commercial sources.
Among Paperinkeräys Oy’s strengths are its modern and nationwide plant and service network, skilled staff and long-term partnerships. The Paperinkeräys Group employs 214 persons in 20 production units. The turnover was in 2005 60 million euros and the total tonnage 750.000 tons. The biggest plant is situated in Helsinki and has annual volume of 100.000 tons. The optical sorting line is installed to this plant.
