Das unternehmensbezogene Nachhaltigkeitsrecht der EU im Zeichen von Europäischem Green Deal und Kompass für Wettbewerbsfähigkeit

Strengthening European competitiveness has recently become a central concern of European legislators. In this context, the European Commission has presented the Omnibus I legislative package in the area of corporate sustainability law. The Omnibus I package proposes amendments to a plurality of EU regulations and directives that have been enacted in recent years to implement the European Green Deal. This article analyzes the larger context of global challenges to European competitiveness that is addressed, e.g., in the Letta Report, the Draghi Report and the EU Compass for Competitiveness. Moreover, it presents and evaluates the regulatory technique and substantive content of the Omnibus I package. In conclusion, lessons are drawn for future legislative processes in EU corporate sustainability law.
