The Role of Circular Economy in Industry 5.0
The sustainability transformation of industry is one of the greatest challenges facing the European Union. One of the key levers in the transformation is the shift from a linear product life cycle to a circular one.
In 2021, it proclaimed the 5th industrial revolution (Industry 5.0 or I5.0) to enable industry to make the transition.
This article examines the connection between I5.0 and the circular economy. Based on the current literature, this article explicitly examines I5.0 technologies that can contribute to achieving a stronger circular economy. After analyzing the results of the research, it becomes clear that some of the technologies have a connection to the circular economy that originated in industry 4.0, but have been expanded to include important functions and fields of application.
