Methodology for the evaluation of ore sorting potential: approach in CIS
SBS ore tests are mainly done in the laboratories of equipment manufacturers most of whom have their own research methodologies. Since approaches vary, it is difficult to interpret and analyze the outcomes when comparing the results obtained from different laboratories.
In the studies methods and indicators for ore sorting efficiency evaluation were proposed. Yet it is hard to tell from them what specifically (ore properties, method inefficiency or failure of sensor) was the driver behind the outcomes.
In this regard, it is interesting to take a look at a unified approach to SBS tests applied in Russia. This approach is based on heterogeneity of occurrence of the commercial component defined by contrast M and phase liberation L.
