Solid recovered fuels: determination of the renewable content
The part of renewable energy from waste must be taken into account in the global renewable energy.
For domestic waste, most countries use national reference values ofthe renewable fraction, based on either European standards or characterization campaigns. For mixed waste fuels, this fraction is specific, depending on the type ofwaste, and the preparation. In order to determine the renewable (biogenic) content of SRF, standardized methods exist, both at a European and North American level. Other methods, not covered by SRF standards, but which are fully operational, can also beused. And new methods are under development. The following study thoroughly reviews and analyses the existing and developing procedures and analytical measurements.
